Nobody gives the witnesses a second thought. They certainly are not going to care about their denunciations. If any do read it, I would assume they would either laugh or get angry. Either way, it ends up in the trash. Reminds me of The Finished Mystery book. I read it when I first studied with the witnesses. All I could think was that -Do these people really think they are fulfilling Bible prophecy? It talks about a major event in Revelation and then states some crazy announcement at a convention was the fullfillment. I should have ran while the running was good.

Listen Up Dalai Lama! Your Days Are Numbered!
by Arthur inthe end of false religion is near - kingdom news campaign.
every once in a while, i get a stomach-churning glimpse into the the bizarre mindset of jwism.
what strikes me is how the jws believe that this tract is going to "shake people up", and stir up a firestorm of controversy that will shake the entire earth to it's core.

I think these are valid questions - only you can decide the answers that resonate with you. And those answers can change. What is important to you as a child changes as you grow. So does the answers to these questions.In fact, even the questions may change as you grow and experiece life.
But that doesn't mean you have to go it alone. There certainly is nothing wrong in attending different churches if you choose to. It might be a good way to meet new friends. Just make sure that you don't allow someone else to tell you what to believe again like the JWs have. I have found reading others thoughts through various books is very helpful. Gives you a fresh perspective sometimes.Do you like to read? A book I enjoyed was The Five People You Meet In Heaven,by Mitch Albom. It is a short book, but helps you to think about the big questions of life. And it is not really even about heaven, it's about life's lessons.

Your View of "Worldly" People as a Jehovah's Witness ... Then and Now
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 {font-family: arial, sans-serif;font-size: 16px; } .style2 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; } --> #secondary { position: absolute; top: 311px; left: 563px; width: 132px; font-size: 100%; border: thin solid #000000; background-color: #ffffcc; height: 122px; padding: 5px; }
} your view of "worldly" people as a jehovah's witness being in the organization was unique, in the sense, that we were told to.
love our fellowman and we showed this "act of love" through our preaching.

I never believed that all "worldly" people would be killed by God. I thought this was as bad as believing in torture and hellfire. Of coarse, I didn't voice my opinion much around the JWs. I would sometimes say that I certainly hoped many others would come into the organization before the end.
I did put up a fence, though, between me and "worldly" people. I was always friendly, but wouldn't go beyond that. I'm sorry for that now because I could use some good real friends after breaking all ties with the congregation. They were the only ones I had for many years.
Now, I do not think of people as us and them. We are all just people. but, I forgot how to fit into normal life so it does still affect me. I think it will take along time before i can totally adjust.

The shunning policy is evil. I swear if they could, they would stone people. Some recent posts made me realize how close they are to the terrorists. I never realized that before. But I truly think they will do anything in jehovah's name-just much sneakier. This really needs to be published.
The poor sick mother. How can they justify taking away the most precious thing in her life? I have lost children to this disgusting cult and I can testify to the agony involved. I hope the daughter comes around, but I see how they all rally around the "poor JW" whose family "turns against Jehovah." The love bombing starts anew some times The daughter is really going to regret it if she loses one of her elderly parents.

In which ways did the Watchtower affect or mold your personality?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; color: #669999; } .style2 { font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; } .style4 {font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: italic; } --> your personality as one of jehovah's witnesses can you recall when the watchtower society would counsel us.
regarding developing that "sheep" like personality?
can you remember talks and magazine articles dealing with the.

The Watchtower severely affected my abilty to make decisions for myself. I was young, but an adult when I entered their mind control. Before I joined, I didn't have much trouble deciding what I should do or how I felt about things. After 30 years, I find myself constantly uncertain when I face certain decisions. And then I doubt my decision later. I believe this is because I was not allowed to really decide much for myself when I was a JW. I just looked up the answer in some publication.
I gave so much control of my life to people I don't even know. Scary thought. I am slowly learning to do better, but I don't know if the mind conditioning of always looking to someone else for an answer will ever totally be overcome.

Going "Door to Door"..........
by whyamihere inwhen i was a teen going door to door, my "territory" was always the college area.
my choosing because i loved going back to the places i was the night before.
think of it - the last time they seen me i was either doing a beer bong or teaching people to do a beer shot gun.

I am pretty much of an introvert, so forcing me to knock on stranger's doors was very traumatizing. I guess the easiest service was when you did tract work. Just had to hand them their "free copy" and leave. I can't believe I was a pioneer either. It really opened my eyes to some things. Pioneers are absolutely amazing at wasting time. They spend all day doing nothing. After a while, I realized I had things to do with my time and all I was accomplishing was impressing others in the hall. I certainly knew all the latest gossip, however, when I was pioneering.

What's The Dumbest JW Belief?
by minimus ini have to think believing in the blood doctrine has to be the dumbest, especially because accepting the watchtower view can kill you.
-
choosing life
That the society has been chosen to speak for God because all of the other stupid and hurtful doctrines depend on this one.

I have seen people sit in the back alone for years. They may not have been able to hold to the requirements put on them by the elders, but the elders DO have a choice whether to let her back in. One advantage you do have is they consider you the head of your wife. Use this to your advantage. Read up on what wives must do to submit to their husbands. Not to be mean, but to help her see what her religion teaches.
If you can get her to do some critical reading now, this is crucial. Once she starts this process, she may see it as a personal failure to God if she fails. And you will be demonized as a "worldly" person. It can put a big wall between you and her. You don't say anything about children, but this religion can really mess them up and you will be constantly at odds about how to raise them.I hope she doesn't go through with this.
